How do I maKe a startup disc for my XP pro computer so I can get back in if it crashes?
Wind XP Pro Samsung PC My friend's PC just crashed and he had no startup disc made beforehand.
Put in a blank floppy, right click on the A drive click format, then choose create boot disk. Go to your manufacturers web site and look for a compatible bios flashing utility and a copy of the most recent bios. Say the utility's name is say flash898.exe and the file name of the bios is say 8smslga.f12 (these are the file names for my utility and latest bios.) Your bios file may end in a .bin file name.
Use your text editor and type in (this would be as I would do it for my bios) flash898 8smlga.f12 (with a space between the flash editor and your bios file name). Save the file as autoexec.bat
Paste the flash bios editor application, your bios file and the autoexec.bat file into your newly made start up disc.
When a computer crashes bad and will not boot it is usually a corrupt bios. Having a disc with your correct bios and a utility to flash it can save you an expensive trip to the shop.
