Why is windows xp pro sp3 booting so slow on my custom computer?
I just reformatted my hard drive and did a clean install of windows xp. i realized it takes up to 2 minutes to boot. the computer has a dual core e5200 at 2.5ghz hitachi 7200 rpm hard drive and 2gb ddr2 800 memory
That is about average for an SP startup part of the reason that Windows 7 is liked so much. It significantly improves the boot time.
The issue has to do with how Xp determines what is available, it's network startup, etc.
