what is making my control panel open really slowly on my PC?
When I click Start then settings then control panel my PC goes dead for about 60 seconds before responding, when I do a system restore to a few days back it is gone! I have installed nothing inbetween! I am using XP
You might have gotten a virus or spyware. I've had that problem many times. You're very lucky that doing a system restore DOES restore it back to former good self.
I bought a used computer with nothing but XP and AVG on it, and the 933MHz ran like lightning. Started adding few programs, and began to bog down. Have gotten little more speed by getting rid of unneeded programs and keeping up with spyware removal programs.
