How do I connect my laptop to wireless internet with windows xp?
I had windows xp media edition and i had a thing in the right corner on the task bar that would show all of the connections that were near and i could just click one, it was really easy. My computer got the blue screen and i needed to run a recovery disk and didn't have the serial code for media edition so now i have crappy windows. Can i get a program that lets me find networks easily for free? If not how do I connect to the router in my house?
You have a half-assed install of Windows XP. There are a whole bunch of downloads for the drivers and whatever that you need to finish the job. Browse to the web site of the brand of laptop, search for your laptop, and start downloading these. Run them, starting with the chipset, and check with Windows Device Manager to see which devices still show up with yellow question marks. Once you've eliminated the yellow question marks by finding the driver for that device you should be fine.
