if i get a desktop DVD drive, will I know for sure it will fit in any desktop?
I have a Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2 and it is a dell if Desktop DVD drives are not one size fits all plz recommend a Drive for me preferably at Fry's

Any DVD drive you buy for your computer will fit. (Just make sure you don't by a laptop dvd drive)
However, you will need to know if you need either a
SATA
or
IDE
connection. So look up the specifications of your computer and make sure whether or not you have either IDE, or Both IDE/Sata.
If you get IDE you run a better chance of having that connector (I say 99%).
If you buy a SATA dvd drive, the age of your computer will determine if you have SATA connections inside.
