uefa euro 2008 on windows vista vs windows xp?
hi,
i have a dell xps m1530 laptop running vista premium as the pre-installed operating system. I installed uefa euro 2008 and ran it, but it ran really slow. Even the menu ran extremely slow.
So, i formatted my hard drive and installed windows xp and all the relative drivers for my hardware. I installed uefa euro 2008 and it ran like a charm.
I did a ctrl-alt-del when vista was installed and saw that 1.2GB of my 2GB of ram was taken up by vista just sitting idle, whereas xp used a mere 300MB of the possible 2GB.
I am suspecting that this may be the reason for the game running alot more slowly in vista (there aint enough ram).
Would you agree that this is the case? if not, what do you think would be the problem?

Yes, Vista is much more demanding that Xp. If you prefer XP, use it. Or, better yet, install both XP and Vista on your hard disk, and just boot XP to play the game.

Oh, ya, I think it is Vista Aero. Looks cool, but impractical. That could be part of the reason.
You could upgrade your RAM if you wanted.
