How do I remove windows xp and reinstalll it using the boot disc?
It is a dell laptop and I tried to put in the recovery cd but it wouldn't let me use the cd because of the updates and i can't get it to boot from disc.
1. on startup press DEL repeatidly till a blue screen comes up. or what ever button it says right at the start to enter the bios.
2 go through the menu's and find a section called 'boot sequance'
open this and put it in this order,
1 cd/dvd drive
2 hard drive
once set, get out of the menu's and select save and exit. then put the cd in and it should boot from the cd, you might have to press a button or follow the messages onscreen.
