Is windows xp media center edition better than regular XP is it slower than normal?
I have an hp laptop with Windows XP media center edition and it has a decent procesor Intel Pentium 4 3.19 processor with 1 gb of ram and its slow any ideas?
One gig is minimum and considering its a laptop part of the memory is shared with video. The media apps only come into play when used. the OS is essentially the same. You can speed it up with another gig.
Also keep your anti virus and anti spyware up to date, and defrag the hard drive. Laptop hard drives are inherently slower than larger ones in desktops so fragmentation can cause slowdowns.
