I got a Phenom II x2 555 stock 3.2 GHz?
I've overclocked it to 3.5 GHz so far my PSU is only 420 WATTS
im running ATI RADEON 5450 HD 512MB, 1 TB HDD, 4 gigs of Patriot ram, and dvd drive
is 420 too small of a psu
and if it is, is a 550-600 ok
and can i take it any further than 3.5 Ghz without raising the voltage (i dont wanna do that)
your PSU is fine, but if you want to overclock the p2 555 any further your going to want a good psu around the 500-600 area. im hoping you have a good motherboard that has coreunlocking features.
i have built 3 computers with the Phenom II x2 555 with a MSI 870-G45 motherboard. which allows you to unlock disabled cores, and adds a bit more stability. 3/3 unlocked the cores and overclocked overall to 3.8ghz on air coolin.
btw i personally stress test every build i assemble. 6 hours atleast.
