How can I reset my Windows Xp PC to new?
I have a Hp Windows Xp Pc and it's hella slow i want to erase everything on it so that it turns like new when i bought it how can i do it. I dont care about loosin my files i just want to restart from the beginning. thanks for ur help.
You don't need to loose anything. Just backup all of your data, music, picture and documents etc to another hard drive (internal hard drive or external USB drive) or a CDR or DVD-R.
Then use the "restore" or WinXP disks that came with your computer. Update windows first with Service Pack 2 and then re-install your programs and copy your data back to your "my documents" folder - your computer will be like new.
I used to do this about once per year, but then I bought a program "Drive Image" (similar to Norton Ghost) which will make an exact image of your drive. I saved that after a re-install and now anytime I want to restore to that exact operation it takes only about 10 minutes and no effort. You just need another drive to store your backup - you should be backing up your data somewhere anyways so you probably already have this.
