Vista home premium to Windows 7 professional with Windows 7 Pro upgrade software.?
Ok, had Vista Home Premium on laptop, got a deal on the windows 7 upgrade, figured what the hell, i'll get windows 7 pro upgrade. Had no idea I had to have vista buisness in order to upgrade. Did a clean windows 7 pro install, can't activate it because microsoft says this software won't support a clean install. I now understand I can't upgrade vista home to windows 7 pro, but am I completely boned? Will best buy even take the software back? I technically haven't used it but it's open so I don't know if they would accept a return. Can I use the upgrade code somehow? I am assuming i'm pretty much up the creek without a paddle but I would at least like confirmation of this. Anybody?
