Windows computers are great when they are running smoothly, but as many people are now discovering, losing the "password" for the administrator account on your system is neither fun nor easy to fix. Although not being able to remember the password for your computer can be a big problem, the good news is that there is now a series of software applications which will work to "reset" the password on your system, allowing you to log in again.
There are only two ways to re-gain access to a blocked Windows computer. The first is to actually re-install Windows, and the second is to use a special program which will "reset" the password that your computer has. Both methods will actually work to clear out the files & settings that your PC uses to store the passwords it has, allowing you to log in correctly again. The way this works is that each time you try and log into your system, Windows will check a file & settings which store the administrator password. If you type the correct password, then the stored files should match up correctly with your input, but it will be the case for you that the inputted password did not match the stored one. The way to get back into your PC is to "reset" this stored password so that you know what it is, and can login again as a result.
The way to fix your password problem is to basically change the stored password on your PC with one that you know, allowing you to correctly login again. The most dramatic way to do this is to completely re-install Windows, which will basically wipe off all the files and settings on your system and then replace them with fresh new ones. Although this will work, it will actually remove all your settings, making it very counter-productive and unattractive to most Windows users. The other way to resolve the problem is to use software that resets the password for you.
The most popular way to fix administrator password problems is to use a "password reset tool" to scan through your system and remove the various stored password files your PC has.These are software tools which has been specifically designed to scan through your Windows files and then reset the stored password settings that it has. You can use them by downloading the program to a PC you have access to, and then letting it burn a "boot CD" which will contain another piece of software that will load up onto your locked computer. After this CD has been burnt, place it into your locked system where it will load before Windows boots, and will then give you the ability to remove the stored passwords your PC has. This will then allow you to login to your PC without having to type in a password.
