I brought a computer with no operating system. It has legal coa for me 2000.can can i use win. xp home ed,?
It is a Dell GX110 {256 Meg. memory--10 gig.hard drive--733 MHZ.cpu} All I need is the operating system and I have the keyboard, mouse, montor etc etc. Can I use windows xp home ed upgrade for the operating system?
I think you would have to install the ME, first, using your legal COA's numbers. You can probably borrow a CD or buy one off eBay or.... (It'll be a lot cheaper than buying a full version of XP) Then you should be able to use the XP-Home Upgrade package. Check with the MSoft site if you have questions.
You will want to upgrade your hard drive and memory (probably that 100/133 stuff. Cost a lot for what it is.). XP likes memory.
