I have three special needs children at home and need to find help securing our 2nd story windows. Any ideas?
We have just moved into the house and barely have the funds to make ends meet. Hoping to be pointed to local charities or disability groups that may be able to help us keep my kids from jumping out the windows. We had two kids do the same window in one week resulting in 2 trips to the hospital. We have been lucky injuries were only bruises. DCFS has already been called on us. Situation is becoming desperate.
Home depot has these locks that can be installed on the windows for very little that require a key to unlock them. You need to get those and put them in. All you need in a heavy duty screw driver to install most styles. You might need to ask a neighbor if they have a power drill you can borrow to install it. Or a lot of Home Depots have rental centers you can rent the power drill if you have too. Now I understand money is an issue. Go online and print out a Lowe's coupon. I worked at Home Depot for five years as a front end manager, they HAVE to take the Lowe's coupon. It will at least save you 10% off the cost. I have also located another option for you. I have included the link for you to look at. At 5 something a pop it really is afordable and looks to be rated as a good option for window saftey. Good luck!
