What do I need to do if I want to install Win XP on my Win Vista H P (x64) machine using VMware?
Do I need to partition my HDD or do somethin else?
I am a geek when it comes to PCs.

Creating a new partition and, installing XP to it is a good idea. If you decide just to do a fresh install of XP and, format your drive. Make sure you have all the drivers saved or, as many as you can find to CD or, DVD first. Do not save them to a usb drive as you may end up without the drivers for the usb ports. Before you start you should go to Start>All Programs>System Tools>Components. Write down the manufacturer and, the drivers for all of your components. So if you are missing any after the install you can go to the manufacturer's web site to find them. Especially video and, audio drivers. XP and, Microsoft update will find most of the drivers. Although, it may not find all of them. So, remember to follow the steps about saving as many drivers as you can to CD or, DVD first and, write down the manufacturer of your components and, the driver names. Before starting the install.
