Why won't my .mp4 files play?
I burned a CD-R with 193 tracks of .mp4 files on it. The disc plays with Windows Media Player (Version 11.0.5721.5145) --- downloaded yesterday---on my Systemax 3.2 GHz computer running Win XP Pro. It will not play on my HP Pavilion 7955 1.5 GHz computer running Win XP Home Edition using the same version of Windows Media Player --- downloaded today. The disc drives are identical models of LiteOn (CD/DVD) Lite Scribe.
Windows Media player requires the right codec to play files of different formats. Incase you want to play a .mp4 file you have to download the codec and install it. Windows media player codec pack is available online on the microsoft pack and free.
