Netbooks go in the range between $275-350. I got mine 6 months ago for $279.99. However, because of Black Friday, Best Buy is selling them for much less:

The cheaper netbooks have 160GB hard drives and Intel Atom N270 CPU but their other specs are more or less similar.
And contrary to what the other guy said, netbooks come standard with only 1GB of RAM. You need to replace it with a 2GB (max.) stick if you want more RAM.

Edit: Like what I've said, the Asus netbook in my second link used to sell for $279.99 last week. I don't know about the Compaq though but the low price seems very enticing. It only has Windows XP Home edition but not bad at all.
