Desktop Icons Problem (Windows XP)?
I have an issue with my computer desktop not showing items, when I download a new program it's icon does not appear on the desktop (even when I specifically place it there), when I search items on the desktop it is listed as being there but I can not visually see it without performing a search. It is not that all icons are hidden, just new ones that I download. Any idea what might be causing this?
Right click on the desktop & check the settings. Particularly check to make sure that the desktop isn't locked. That might prevent new icons from showing up.
