if I have an xp recovery cd and i reinstall my laptop, which has vista, what happens?
i have a cd for recovery that i was using on my computer with xp, and now i bought a laptop, and it has vista on it.. if i do recovery on my laptop with my cd, am i actually going to install xp on it? and i have like 2 gb ram memory on it. it's going to be the same right?
No, it won't be the same by any matter because each one of them has different core features, even if they're both from Microsoft and recent ones, so you need to get the laptop's brand's Vista recovery disc or otherwise buy an installation disc to have this operating system on your laptop, but also have in mind that for the latter you'll need its appropiate drivers too, so download them and backup your data just in case before performing the system reloading.
