its seems that you are using an older version of mcafee which is not compatible with vista, thats why getting this message.. i suggest you either contact mcafee support and get yourself a vista compatible version or you can switch to any other antivirus... i recommend bitdefender total security which has been ranked number 1 in top 10 anti viruses review three years in a row... its fast and very good one..
if you wish you can give it a shot.... also google "top 10 anti virus", you will find bitdefender on top... this was my two cents worth suggestion.
