forgot bios password on gateway T-1628 NoteBook?
ok i did'nt forget it i accidentaly changed it while trying to disable it ,it asked for the old password then the new one left it blank and left the confirmation blank saved it and restarted and it promted for the password that i deleted exept i have no clue what the password is
so dose any one know wut the defalt password is or is familiar with the mobo that can tell me how to reset
and if needed can i remove the cmos battery on the board to reset the bios i dont evan know if it has a battery and i dont want to take the laptop apart looking for a battery that aint there and i dubt ther are any jumpersso any body know a backdoor password for gateway phoenix bios ver 90.03 or any other way to clear cmos that dosent involve me sending it in for service or otherwise wasting mony

First of all, try just hitting Enter when prompted for the password. If that doesn't work, try entering one space and then hitting Enter. If neither of these work, you will need to clear the CMOS.
Look on the bottom of the laptop. Open the cover for the RAM slots. You should find a small button-cell battery. Make note of the position it's in, and carefully remove it. Also, remove the main battery on the laptop. Leave the laptop like this for 10-15 minutes. Replace the CMOS battery, and then the main battery. Turn the computer on and see if that fixes it.
