is it possible to install windows xp from a usb hard drive?
i have an old toshiba laptop that i'm going to give one of my siblings except i want to format the hard drive and reinstall xp first cause i think it might have a virus. the only problem is that the cd drive is broken, so i cant install xp from my xp disc. is there any way to copy the disc to my usb hard drive and run windows setup from it?
If your Toshiba laptop will boot from usb, you could copy the whole xp disk to the usb hard drive, and open up setup.
