Intel Core 2 Duo vs. AMD Turion X2 Ultra?
which it better for a low end gaming laptop.... im also wanting some suggestions for the best laptop between $700 - $800 that can play WoW, Black and White 2 and other games.. nething would be very helpful! and i no a desk top would probly be better for the price but id rather have a laptop for personal use
Core 2 is faster at the same clocks than Turions due to its newer and more efficient architecture. A 2Ghz Core 2 Duo is about equivalent to a 2.4GHz Turion X2.
As for a $700-$800 laptop:
Dell makes some good sub-$1000 notebooks. You can get a XPS M1530 for pretty cheap, with either a geforce 8400 or 8600M. You can also try one of their Latitude business laptops, especially the E6400, which gives an option for Nvidia Quadro 160M(9300M GS equivalent).
MSI makes some good stuff too in that range. You might be able to find a laptop with a 9600M GT graphics card.
HPs tend to be overpriced graphics wise.
