Ultimate Vista 2k
windows vista then windows xp.?
im getting a computer soon that is brand new but dosent come with an os. i have used nothing but xp and windows 2k in my life so far so i am going to try vista. i know it has bad reviews but my computer is really good and i have plenty of software to keep it running just as good as xp. but the question is if i install vista (the exact version is ultimate x64 sp2) will i be able to reinstall xp if i want?

New computer - keep it clean.
Don't install antivirus or antispyware or any other crapware.

My advice - install Windows for games and whatever you must use Windows for. You can disable internet, and turn off services to make it run faster. You can install Vista and work out how to install XP and then read these two answers I wrote earlier to figure out what to do next:

Next go to http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu and get a liveCD (just get i386 - there's no great benefit to getting 64-bit. 3.5GB memory is enough for a few years yet).
After this, you'll get either two or three OS's listed at boot time - Ubuntu will detect Vista and XP installations and list them in the GRUB menu. Boot up, choose your OS and go...
I use XP for games (don't like Vista) and Ubuntu for everything else.
