Would a car battery power a tower pc, modem and router for 15 min?
I'm planning on hosting my website at home and incase of a power cut I want to avoid downtime, so would a car battery power a tower pc, modem and router for around 15 minutes? The tower is very low power.
Yes. Normally a UPS will do without any power interruption going to the computer, modem and router in the event of a power outage. However, if you want to power the system for 15 minutes then you will need a UPS that has connectors to an external battery pack (a car battery in your case). Just make sure that the UPS runs on 12-volts battery. A lot of them runs on 6-volts only and they last for only 5 minutes.
