How to best revive XP system with boot error?
Have a XP desktop fairly typical, nothing unusual, installed xp after build, worked great. After a power cut, when booted machine it did not go into windows, I get an error
"windowssystem32configsystem is either missing or corrupt"
I can boot to dos prompt from install CD, and seems like have choice of using a back up of this file or reinstalling. Its an older version on XP, takes forever to install and update, reboot, update, etc so I was trying to avoid that an reinstalling all software...
