HDD light won't show when PC is turned on.?
Hello everyone, I have a Pc Desktop problem. A few months ago, I removed my Cd-rom driver from my HP Compaq D530 SFF Desktop with Windows XP Pro, and installed a Cd-RW/Dvd driver. then in the month of October, On the Sunday Night of the 1st week my mother told me to remove the CD-RW/DVD Driver out of the pc and re-install the first one cause it was giving reading problems. So I put back in the first CD rom driver and checked every single wires, I turned on the Pc and it was running good but there's a problem. The Hdd light (The light next to the Power light and Power button) won't show, I don't what has happen but I need some advice to solve this problem. Please & Thank You. 
You keep saying "driver" but I think you mean "drive" as in you removed the DVD drive.
See if you can follow the very small wire ( it may be red or white) that leads from the front of the case and would plug in a small jumper in the motherboard in the same area where the power switch goes to as well. It may say "hdd" on the board. You may need a magnifying glass and if possible a picture of your motherboard. In any case, even if you don't reconnect it, it's not a big problem although it is nice to see the light flashing when it is working. A lot of newer systems, mine included don't seem to bother having that light.
