I want to restore my laptop to factory settings,is recovery cd the same as restore cd?
need to do so as i can not remmember my password, i don't think there is anyother way to gain access to my laptop otherwise

if you are on windows boot up the machine with a boot disk of any kind
go to c:windowssystem32
and del the SAM file
then go to c:windows system 32restore and copy the SAM file to the previous directory.
