how do you reset a compaq presario sr1230nx?
i have a compaq presario from like 2003 and recently i got some adware or a virus on it. I was able to get rid of the virus but it seems have left remenants on my computer. It wont let me open any programs dircetly, or use some of my control panel options. I also can't delete any of my programs. I lost the recovery cd, is there another way to reset my computer?
You can reset the BIOS but that won't help with your particular problem. If you don't have the disk the best you can do is try going back to an earlier restore point.
