Vista Media Center & XBOX 360?
I have a Vista Premium setup from HP that works flawlessly and just got a XBOX 360. I successfully connect to the PC and I am able to stream my music and pictures without any problems. When I try to connect to the Media Center it starts and connects but won't function. It says Recorded TV but I can't go up or down or play anything with my remote or controller... I have visited the support site and tried everything they say. I have disabled my software firewalls, made sure ports are open in my router.... I don't know what else to do. Any advice would help!
First of all, WMC is a joke. Using it as a server/media player is a bad idea, because it's so crippled and generally useless.
I reccomend for your PC, you use videolan as your player. Install the linked program, and follow the directions. Then you can easily stream things from your PC.
