I set up all stuff for the media center but wen i want to watch tv,i want to use the windows media center remote onstead of the set-top box remote... how do i do tat?

If during set-up, media center didn't set-up your remote, then you probably don't have things connected properly.
Your STB should be connected to the TV tuner using either the S cable or composite input.
When you tell MCE that you're using a cable STB, it sets-up your remote.
