How do I get the windows xp recovery console without the cd.?
I have a Dell Latitude CPx that keeps bringing up and error message like this. Windows could not start up because the following file is either missing or corrupt: WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEM. If you have any questions or ideas on how I could fix this please help.

Recovery console loads off the emergency repair disk. You might be able to borrow someone's to perform that.
Other options are you can download a linux boot CD and try to use that to import a new system file.
Using an ERD is the best method for fixing your problem though.
