BSOD Problem help!!!?
I have a Dell Studio XPS 16 Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Recently while watching a Hulu video my computer randomly shut down, then it restarted and "System Tools 2011" showed up. I turned off my computer and then ran Malwarebytes and Avast! Free Antivirus on full scan to get rid of it, it appeared to successfully do so. I started back up into normal mode (i was in safe mode while getting rid of it) and everything appeared normal and i continued watching my video.. and then it shut down again with a BSOD. Now whenever I try to start it up normally, during the loading bar before the login screen I get a BSOD with error 0x000000C9. Is there any way to fix this in safemode? Due to past issues i had to disable system recovery. Any help greatly appreciated!

To resolve the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD with 0x000000C9) problem, do below steps one by one:
[A] Repair Corrupted System Files:
System File Checker (SFC) lets you replace the corrupted system files with their original versions. This operation requires Microsoft Windows installation disc as it copies files from the disc to your hard disk.
1. Insert Microsoft Windows installation disc.
2. Click Start | Run. Or, press Windows Key + R.
3. Type "SFC/ ScanNow" and press ENTER.
4. Follow the on screen instructions.
[B] Repair Corrupted Registry Entries:
Obsolete, junk and invalid registry entries result in BSOD with 0x000000C9 problem. You shall scan your registry for such entries and remove them as far as found. Use RegInOut Registry Cleaner to perform this task.
[C] Restore the System to an Earlier Date:
System Restore may help resolving BSOD with 0x000000C9 problem. Hopefully, if a system restore point is available, you can restore your machine on that time.
1. Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.
2. Click "Next" button.
3. Select a system restore point.
4. Click "Next" button.
5. Follow the on screen instructions.
[D] Test the RAM and Replace it if Required:
By following the below steps, conduct a test to check whether there is any problem with your RAM (Random Access Memory). Often RAM problems result in BSOD with 0x000000C9.
1. Click Start | Control Panel | System and Maintenance | Administrative Tools | Memory Diagnostics Tool.
2. Click "Restart now and check for problems (recommended)".
3. Replace the RAM if it seems to be defective.
[E] Remove Viruses, if any:
Boot sector viruses may also cause the BSOD with 0x000000C9. You have to scan the entire system to find out viruses and remove them. Use a good antivirus software, such as, MalwareBytes AntiMalware, Kaspersky Internet Security or Avast.
[F] Scan and Fix the Bad Sectors on your Hard Disk:
The bad sectors on your hard disk may result in BSOD with 0x000000C9. Check the hard disk and repair the bad sectors as instructed below:
1. Open My Computer.
2. Right click a drive.
3. Select "Properties".
4. Click Tools | Check Now.
[G] Remove Unsupported Devices:
If you had recently installed a device that is no longer functioning, then remove it as below.
1. Click Start | Control Panel.
2. Click Devices and Printers | Hardware and Sound | Device Manager.
3. Right click the malfunctioning device, and select "Uninstall" option.
[H] Remove Unsupported Device Drivers:
If you had recently installed a device driver that is no longer functioning, then remove it as below.
1. Click Start | Control Panel.
2. Click Programs | Uninstall a Program.
3. Select a device driver which is not functioning properly.
4. Click "Uninstall" button.
5. Follow the wizard that appears.
6. Restart your machine.
[I] Remove Incompatible Software:
Incompatibility of the DLL files installed by the software may result in BSOD with 0x000000C9 problem. If you had recently installed any software, try uninstalling it.
