How do I recover my computer without a windows XP cd?
I have the recovery disks but unfortunately I lost the windows xp cd. can anyone tell me step by step what I have to do from this point to recover my computer.
Well, if your computer started out with windows xp, it should be restored with the original settings with windows xp already installed. But, if you bought the disc to install it on a different windows system(2000,vista) then you will have to find the xp disc or buy another one. When I had to restore my computer, it originally came with windows xp, so after i restored it, i still had xp installed. But you will have to update it if it gets recovered. Updates for you operating system is free.
