How can i install Windows XP to a laptop that has cd drive and usb port(can't boot also) that doesn't work?
so far I pulled the hard drive, placed it in an enclosure to gain access and connected it to another laptop as an external hard drive. Thanks
to install xp start out by making sure the install disc is in the tray. press the power button and as boot up begins and look on the screen for something that says press f12 for boot menu of press del/f1, or f2 for setup. if the boot menu option shows up press the corresponding button and select boot from cd and follow onscreen instructions. if boot menu option does not show up then press the button to enter setup and navigate through to boot priority and set cd to first then save and exit. then when prompted it will ask "press any key to boot from disc" then follow onscreen instructions.
