intel pentium vs core 2 duo?
I dont really know THAT much about computers, but c2d is supposed to be faster than pentium, right?
my moms PC is 2 ghz, 4 gb ram and has pentium.
the macbook pro im getting is 2.4 ghz, 4 gb ram, c2d.

Yes the Intel Core 2 is faster and better than the Pentium and a newer CPU/Processor.
Even better is one of the newest CPU/Processors. i3 good, i5 very good, i7 best, they also have built in turbo boost at a lower Ghz and run cooler, use less electricity.
