I currently use windows 98 & xp
I intend to upgrade the pc to MCE
The system is
- Celeron
- 256 MB RAM
- 40 GB Hard disk
Now i want to know can I see the TV channels if i upgrade it, can i also copy some of the part of it, eg a live match, etc.
also, which more hardware will i need in order to watch and save some things?

You'll need to have a "TV Tuner card(A Hardware)" installed in your system to get it work as a TV.
This hardware will allow your computer to receive and display TV channels with help of appropriate connection.
I don't think any other upgradation you will need
