Is my PC a pentium 4 ?
I bought an intel pentium 4 Core 2 Duo CPU E7400@2.80 GHZ(as stated in the brochure), In properties under My Computer says that it is an core 2 duo processor but nothing about whether it is a pentium 4 but third party apps(yes, many of them) say that my pc is an intel pentium 3 core 2 duo with 2.8 GHZ. What is it ?
It is a P4, as Intel had such success with the brand-label they kept it and made different version of P4...
But they are all very different in performance, even though the result to the end user is completely seamless.
The 45nm Core 2 Duo's are the best of P4. But we have moved onto Core i7, which is nothing to do with P4. (Oh, and Core i5 too, the budget range)
CPUs are amazing when you get a fast one, and I run a Core 2 Extreme in my laptop (my most used comp), but as soon as the new 'talk', or architecture becomes available to laptops in Jan / Feb, I'll be camping outside a computer store the night before release in some corner of the world....
