It might be a hair or some other visible ubstruction infront of the laser/ IR light and sensor.
Turn mouse over look where light is coming from to see if there is any thing there. "DO NOT LOOK INTO THE LIGHT" just look around it.
If you are not using a IR or laser mouse then get a new one.
