Why is it that when I installed a 1GB pc 667 in my computer it only shows 512MB during boot up?
I bought a PC 667 ddr2 RAM and installed it in my computer, the previous memory is ddr2 pc 533. When I installed the new RAM it only shows 512MB of RAM while in fact the RAM was 1GB. How can I solve this problem?
check bios and set the ram frequency to AUTO. restart pc. is it solved?
if not then remove old ram and plug the new ram and try.
if all fails, check motherboard manual if it supports ddr667.
my budget was low. my ram was ddr2 800. i had to add $12 for a different motherboard coz my target motherboard didnt support ddr2 667. im thinking, maybe, your mobo has ddr2 800 compatibility issue.
