went to this site called can you run it. tried out some games to see if my computer can run these games. even though i failed out concerning my video card the results claimed that i am running 2 processors when clearly i am only running 1 processor. A p4 , 3.0ghz. my computer is a hp dc7600 sff why would this site state i am running 2 processors ?
Your processor probably has Hyper Threading which means two LOGICAL cores running on one PHYSICAL core in one PHYSICAL processor.
Look up Hyper Threading or Logical Cores on Wikipedia.
It's a way of tricking Windows into thinking you have 2 processors to allow one processor core to better prioritize application requests (that's the short answer).
It's like a dual core processor without the actual dual core.
