I need a video capture card, only have one PCI slot left (PCI-e is already taken by my graphics card) and would be using this for a variety of things ranging from recording play time on the PS3, Xbox 360 and other consoles...to saving all of my VHS footage to my HDD or DVD. Seeing as how I only have a PCI and not PCI-e slot available, I can't really expect a really HD card but wanted to know of any cards or usb external devices that can give me a high resolution capture.
My budget would be $200 or so, but would still be interested in any other more expensive card or external device that you can recommend, My PC's specs are:
P4 3.0 GHz (2 CPUs)
2 Gigs of ram
6.5 Tb of HDD space
ATI Radeon HD 2400 pro graphics card
Windows XP SP3
I also appreciate any recommendation of software but mainly need info on Video Capture Cards or USB devices.
I use a device called Dazzle USB Video Capture Card that is pretty good and in your case should work. Its not HD but that not really that important. So what you do is connect the video and audio cable of your ps3 to that and the capture card gets connected to your computer, yes it cross platformed. And you will get the application for your computer and the rest should be easy.
