I installed the intel gigabit lom on my dell optiplex gx260?
And its showing up on the device manager, and I still don't have internet
I hate to ask obvious questions, but they are often the answer. First make sure your internet cable is connected. While it is showing up on device manager does it have an exclamation point through it? Make sure it is not conflicting with another device. Check your bios and make sure lan is enabled. Make sure your firewall, if you have one isn't blocking it. Those should do for a start.
Also try a different lan cable, you could mess with your computer all day and think things are bad there, when it is a cable problem.
