how much would you pay for this computer?
I have this very old computer, optiplex GX260, that I plan to fix up and sell.
Currently it has windows XP, 500 MB RAM, and 80 GB hard drive.
I plan to buy: 1 GB RAM upgrade, install windows vista or windows 7 on it, and I plan to either upgrade the hard drive to 500 GB or buy a 500 GB external and include it in the bundle for the computer..
So, how much would you pay for a Dell Optiplex GX260 that has 1.5 GB RAM, Windows 7 or Windows Vista, and a 500-600 GB hard drive?

Few things here, Windows 7 is still in test phases so anyone buying a more low end pc like that Proably isn't gonna want something that hasnt had the bugs worked out yet. I would go with vista Home Preium, Usally the optiplex's are SFF ( Small form factor ) and if it is your not going to aquire very much you cant really upgrade it all that much. But on the chance its a tower you should be ok, I would just run with 2gb of ram you can get it pretty cheap at www.newegg.com, All in all however I would run with about 175-300USD. Keep in mind that is with it being a tower and not a SFF. Most people can just go to wal-mart and pick up a semi-decent non gaming pc for 400$.
P.S. I wouldnt drop a 500+ GB HD in it, The HD will be worth more then the PC.
