Should I upgrade to Windows XP Pro X64 or Vista?
I have at my disposal an Asus Crosshair motherboard mated with an AMD Athlon X2 5400 CPU, 4 GB of Ram, 2 400 GB Seagate SATA 7200 RPM drives, a light scribe SATA dvd burner, 850 Watt thermal take PSU, and 2 GeForce 8800 GTX 640MB linked SLI mode.
All the above is more than efficient for Windows Vista. But I've been hearing that Vista is equipped with internal software that REPORTS users who have large numbers of MP3's and video files to proper entertainment industry watchdogs. I have 25,000+ mp3's, and over 6,000+ videos of various shows and full movies. A few hundred full version games, business software, photography editing, and office suites.
Would the above being found on my harddrives land me in hot water? If so, would upgrading to windows XP Pro X64 be the smarter move? (I need something than can address more than 2 or 3 GB of memory, and these two operating systems are the only ones).
Anyone heard of this so called snoop pre-installed into Vista?
