Due to viruses, I want to prevent my kids from downloading games. Is there any adminstrative options in my xp?
Set up a free email Account like Yahoo. Yahoo scans the incoming file for viruses. The kids can then download to the COMPUTER. Make it an open account where all the family can use the email account for downloading files.
Otherwise you can set your Virus Protection Software to scan for viruses and clean,for all downloads.
Restricting your kids will only make them get games from friends. Viruses can also be transferred by CD/DVD given by friends.
Maybe invest in another computer that they can use for themselves so they don't frack up your computer.
Teaching your kids about responsibility with the INTERNET, downloads, viruses etc is a positive step to them understanding the ways of the world. It's not safe out there even in cyberspace.
