my pc does not work with autoshut down softwares. why?
i've installed several softwares to automate hibernation and restarts but my pc does not seem to respond to any of them. i observed that my monitor flickers a bit when the scheduled shut down/hibernation should take place but that's just it. a little flicker but no shut down. im running on windows xp service pack 2 on an ibm thinkcenter.i am using it as an internet server with wingate 5 installed.
Instead of going for automated softwares, one better option i can recomend is the use of certain commands.
Unlike softwares, they are free, and effective. They do the same job i.e creating countdown times for shutdown under various parameters.
