Will this IBM be sufficient to play 1080p video on my HDTV?
I have an HDTV and would like to use it as a monitor for a computer to play 1080p video on. If I upgraded this desktop to 4GB of RAM, would the processor, graphics card and audio chipset be up to par for playing this video?

I have a MacBook with a 2.4 Ghz processor and 2 GB of RAM already and it is barely capable of playing 720p video on my TV so I am looking for a cheap way to fix this.

Not really. There are two reasons why:
-It doesn't have a HDMI out socket. HDMI is really the only way to stream 1080p HD video to your TV.
-It doesn't have a proper graphics card. You need a graphics card to stream 1080p HD video, because the ones in computers like that aren't powerful enough.
If all you're really going to do is stream HD videos, just get the cheapest graphics card you can find that has a HDMI socket.
