Which PC is best? Athlon 2600 with 3GB RAM or P4 2.66Ghz with 2Gb RAM?
My brother has given me his old pc, and I cannot decide which one now to adopt as my main PC for playing games and photo editing.
My current one is an old HP Business machine, with P4 2.66Ghz CPU, 2Gb RAM (max), in a midi tower. It has a Lite-On BR138 motherboard. Also has a Geforce 6600 AGP.
My bro's PC is a MESH built Athlon 2600. It can take 3Gb RAM (currently has 1Gb). It has an ASUS A7N8X motherboard. It has a ATI Radeon 9600XT (RV360)
I may as well use the most powerful pc for daily usage, and just have the other as a backup. Graphics cards can be switched. So which is best?

In the benchmarks, the Intel P4 2.66GHz is a little bit faster than the AMD Athlon 2600+. However it probably won't make much of a difference because the CPU's are close in performance.
As for the graphics card, I would say go with the GeForce 6600. The GeForce 6600 uses 512MB of DDR2 whereas the Radeon 9600XT only uses 256MB of DDR. http://www.computing.net/answers/gaming/radeon-9600-xt-vs-geforce-6600/5759.html
For fastest I would go with the Intel P4 2.66GHz and the GeForce 6600. Hope this helps!
