I put 1gb memory in my pc and now all it does is beep. HP pavillion i have the right type of memory.?
i don't know what the problem could be.
i've taken the new memory out and left the old one in and it still beeps, my monitor is blank
First, remove the memory and see if it stops beeping!
If it still works, and you haven't fried anything, double check the type of memory you have with the memory that is actually NEEDED by your system. (I's suggest going to http://crucial.com and using their tool that runs on your machine and tries to determine the required memory type by the motherboard ID)
Make sure your memory is among they type & speed listed as compatible on their site for your system.
